Bertie Bialek Elliott and her daughters Cynthia Livermore, Carolyn Akcan, and Susan Lansbury
Montage Health Foundation, in its first year of operation and with its own board of trustees, raised $116.3 million in 2017 — including the second-largest gift in support of healthcare in the United States. That gift came through the generosity of Bertie Bialek Elliott. Her $105.8-million contribution will fund Ohana, a groundbreaking approach to mental healthcare for our community’s children. All of the funds raised by the foundation have a significant impact on local healthcare, through efforts such as the new mobile clinic to serve the homeless, training to expand treatment for traumatic brain injuries, and recruitment of new doctors to provide access to care for more people.
